At Least 42 women were killed in the province of Sindh in one month from 22nd march to 22nd April 2010. Out of which 16 were killed over karo kari and 26 women were killed under incidents of violence of various kinds. 5 double murders were committed in Ghotki, Shikarpur, Shahdadkot and Kashmor District while in Sanghar, Naushehro Feroze, Hyderabad, Ghotke, Sukkur, Kashmor and Shikarpur districts 11 women were killed over Karo-Kari. Apart from the above figures, 26 women were killed over land disputes and domestic violence, out which 6 women were killed in Karachi and sanghare district while 20 women were killed in Ghotki, Shahdadkot, Mirpurkhas, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tando Allahyaar, Dadu, Jamshoro, Jaccobabad, Matiyari and others district under domestic disputes, Research and Development for Human Resources urged the Government to take remedial Measures against increase in killings of women in Sindh. read more
